Having Fun With Toy Photography
Posted By silentprincess on April 29, 2009
Photography is not only about beautiful faces, beautiful sceneries, unforgettable moments, and artistic shots. One can have more fun in Photography by taking shots of their favourite collection of anime toys. Not only you can enjoy opening them and putting them in a special display cabinet but there is also so much fun in taking special shots of your anime toys. Shots that can make you say, “Wow, I’ve got a really cool toy”.
The challenge in this kind of photography is to make these toys seem like real or big when the toy is really small. You need to be creative in setting up backgrounds and lightings to match the anime toy. You can use different color backgrounds by using “cartolina” or any other kind of paper that can be used as a background. Also, you can either use the natural light outside or just use lighting equipment from your home like desk lamp.

Here is an example of a shot which used natural light from the sun and used a university campus as a background. This is Misato Katsuragi toy.Ain’t the shot makes the toy cooler?

Here’s another one that used natural light. The challenge in this photo was to tie up the chains on Beyond the Grave’s arms in order for him to carry his coffin. Also, you have to pose him well for action shots but the joints of this figure are hard to move. But taking a shot of him just standing, still makes him really look cool.

Who would have thought that the background of this photo is a CPU? Well, yes it is. It really matches Meiya Mitsurugi figure and makes you wanna buy this figure.

Another photo of Meiya Mitsurugi figure which used a crepe paper as a background and desk lamp for its lighting.

Or you can have more fun in your photo shoot by taking a shot of your anime toy with some other kind of toys like in this picture. Pretty funny…hehehe
Now, you have more reasons to collect anime toys. Just grab your camera and start taking shots of your anime toy collection and I bet you’ll have more fun now in collecting toys. Taking pictures of your toy will surely make your toys come alive.
