Soothing.Relaxing.Enchanting. The words that best describe the music of multi-Grammy award winning singer and pianist Norah Jones after witnessing her bang-up performance at a concert with “the handsome band” here in Manila last Saturday in Araneta, Coliseum (with me was the hubby of course
).
She sang exquisitely captivating. She sang my favorite songs “Come Away with me”, “Don’t Know why”, “Nightingale”, “The Nearness of You” etc. But as jazz purists would say, her music is not really Jazz. Indeed, hers is an amalgam of different styles of music (jazz/blues/country/folk-pop).

What a tiresome day I had in the office yesterday. We had our “5S” or referred to as “The Practice of Good Housekeeping” or in short our “cleaning-up” day (waahhh).
To give you a background, 5S stands for five japanese words seiri (sort), seiton (systematize), seiso (sweep), seiketsu(sanitize), and shitsuke (self-discipline). Â It is a systematized approach for organizing work areas, keeping rules and standards, and maintaining work discipline to develop and sustain a productive work environment. Our company provides trainings and technical assistance for this. (wait, this is a free advertisement ah..heheh

Sunday is our family day with my in-laws like most filipino families. After attending a worship service, we usually eat lunch at hubby’s grandmother’s house (father side) with the rest of the family including cousins, aunts and uncles. Â Sometimes, me and hubby would eat lunch at my in-laws’ house in antipolo if they were unable to go to nanay Vic’s house (hubby’s grandmother) or if they just wanted us to visit them to watch some DVDs together and for hubby, my father-in-law, and brother in-law to have some jamming session (jazz gigs baga). After lunch, jamming and some chitchat, we would go to malls to shop or window shop, watch the latest movie, eat dinner at different restaurants, watch jazz gigs, etc.

As long as i can remember, this is the first poem i learned when i was just a little kid(not sure if this is a real poem hehe).  I find it silly but funny.  I can still remember how i would recite this in front of my older siblings and parents [...]
